| ANOTHER CLEAN SWEEP FOR JOHN EARLE |
On 17th November, John Earle offered for sale three Lots by Public Auction.
The first Lot, Hove Cottage was a mid terraced two bedroom character cottage in need of refurbishment and situated in the Cotswold village of Mickleton - a short drive from the pretty tourist village of Broadway.
The bidding opened at £50,000 and with over 200 bidders in the room, the price soon soared over the £90,000 guide price and the hammer finally went down at £135,000, surprising all the staff at John Earle and pleasing the vendors greatly!
 The next Lot up was Great Alne Social Club. A unique and unusual property with an array of possible uses. Again, John Earle's Auctioneer, Mr. Richard Abbey, pushed the bidders to dig deep, and the hammer was up on two occasions, with fresh bids being made at the very last minute. The gavel finally fell at £90,000; some £40,000 over the guide price and again, surprising all with such a pleasing result.
Last up was the 12.7 acres of pasture land on Tilehouse Lane, Shirley. To begin with, the bidding was a little slow but soon the adrenaline was flowing, the bidding moved up and the final sale price was £132,000. Again, a very pleasing result for what we hear to be a difficult market! Perhaps if the confidence in the Auction room is anything to judge by, we have reached the bottom of the market and the investors and funded buyers are now creeping out of the woodwork to snap up property before prices start to move forward.
