The parochial church council of Aston Cantlow have agreed that, upon the completion of the sale of Glebe Farm, Aston Cantlow, scheduled for auction on 20th October, the Lay Rectorialship responsibilities that attach to this farmhouse, buildings and land will be removed absolutely.
This means that when completion takes place on the sale of this property 28 days after the auction date, the new owner of Glebe Farmhouse, buildings and land will not be responsible for the maintaining and repairing of St John's Church, Aston Cantlow.
The current owners, Mr and Mrs Wallbank, have agreed with the parochial church council and the Diocescan Solicitors to pay an additional sum so as to compound the liability in perpetuity.
