CONFIDENCE IN MARKET SHOWN AT JUNE AUCTION

John Earle held their June 2010 Auction on a very warm evening with a packed room and keen buyers resulting in selling a total of £1.4 million of land and property on the night.

Despite being on the same day as the emergency budget little impact was felt in the room with confident bidding throughout.

First up was 4.05 acres at Trueman's Heath Lane, Wythall which sold for £32,000 followed by another 21.63 acres with Auctioneer Richard Abbey putting the hammer down at £146,000. The next lots were Woodhouse Farm, Catherine-de-Barnes with 64.51 acres making £550,000 and a further 34.98 acres being sold post auction in excess of £9,000 per acre. A particular success of the evening was lot six - 23.91 acres of Grade 2 former market garden land in Bretforton selling for an impressive £174,000 - over £7,000 per acre. The last lot was B1 commercial premises in Ullenhall Lane, Gorcott Hill that sold for £270,000.

Both partners at John Earle, Peter Cornford and Richard Abbey were pleased with the results and are optimistic that this level of confidence in the market will continue not only at auction but also within the private treaty market where a definite upturn in activity is being experienced.
