MAY AUCTION 2011


An intense marketing campaign for the diverse and interesting lots in our May auction resulted in a room packed with keen buyers and Richard Abbey working hard using all his usual charm and skill to make sure that maximum results were achieved.

Of the five lots on offer two were sold prior to the auction, the 2.25 acres at Balsall Common and 5.77 acres at Claverdon. Competitive bidding and excellent prices were achieved for the remaining three lots as follows: The Mill Pool, Peterbrook Road, Shirley £34,000, 9.82 Acres with general-purpose building at Holywell, Claverdon £160,000 and Amara, Rowington, a detached bungalow for refurbishment/redevelopment £278,000.



Richard Abbey FRICS, FAAV auctioneer and partner at John Earle said after the sale "Once again this has demonstrated the effectiveness of offering both land and properties for sale by auction as at the fall of the hammer a contract is made between the seller and a proceedable buyer."

Our next auction is on Tuesday 14th June 2011 and has two fantastic lots:- The Old Vicarage, Church Road, Wilmcote is an historic Grade II Listed former vicarage with outbuildings and land extending to 8.35 acres (3.37ha) to be sold in three lots, this a a very rare opportunity as the property has not been offered for sale since 1977 when it was sold by the Church of England.

Oakwood Farm, Forde Hall Lane, Tanworth-in-Arden is a detached four bedroom farmhouse set in a wonderful rural location with extensive outbuildings and land extending in total to approximately 3.57 acres (1.44 ha) another rare opportunity to acquire a Warwickshire farmstead in a unique hamlet setting.
