NOVEMBER AUCTION 2008
Published 19th November 2008
On 18th November 2008 John Earle held their last land and property auction of 2008. The success rate of properties sold in the room has been exceptional through a very troubled year for the residential and landed property market.

Two Lots were on offer; a late 1920's house in Solihull and a small parcel of land with a pond between Knowle and Lapworth.

Mr Richard Abbey, a Partner of the firm firstly offered Selwyn House and to a room of some 40 people asked for bids of £300,000. The opening bid was £200,000 and after 19 bids from a cautious room, the gavel finally fell at £370,000.

Mr Abbey then offered the 0.80 acre of land with a pond off Bakers Lane and with an opening bid of only £2,000 expectation within the room was limited but competition from a number of parties resulted in the gavel falling at £7,500.

Mr Abbey, after the auction, was pleased having achieved 100% success rate in line with results the firm had achieved in the auction room throughout this year. He went on to say there are no further auctions planned before Christmas but has provisionally reserved the 24th March and the 21st April as the firm's likely dates to commence land and property auctions in 2009.
