We held our October auction last Tuesday 18th October and although three Lots were marketed to be offered for sale on the night, The Cottons at Mappleborough Green, was sold prior at a figure around the guide price.
In the room, Richard Abbey, after introducing the solicitors from Shakespeares and Lodders LLP, offered the first Lot, being Sunnyholme, a three bedroom 1930s semi-detached house in need of improvement and renovation, lying on the northern edge of Wootton Wawen and fronting the A3400. After some cautious bidding, the gavel finally came down at £230,000.
The second Lot offered was 8.84 acres of level pastureland with good hedgerow trees in a hamlet known as Buckley Green just a mile from the centre of Henley High Street.
There was spirited bidding from different quarters of the room with one determined bidder finally acquiring the land for £60,000.
Mr Abbey, after the auction, was very pleased with the sale result and stated that, although in some sectors, buyers are a little nervous, certainly in his auction room, people were willing to bid and keen to buy.
