A small former market town dating from Roman times (Alencestre - a Roman fort). The War Memorial Hall in the town centre was built circa 1620 by the then Lord of the Manor Sir Fulke Greville and is now administered as a Charity and run by a committee of Trustees. Alcester provides a multitude of facilities including educational viz:-

Arrow is a small hamlet where you will find the popular Arrow Mill Restaurant with its mill which was mentioned in the Domesday Book.
