Earleswood Lakes Summer

Earlswood is situated between Tanworth-in-Arden and Shirley. It was formerly part of a densely wooded waste, the name signifying the Earl's Wood, the wood of the lords of the manor, The Earl's of Warwick. A notable feature of Earlswood is the Moat House, which is one of the oldest houses in the parish. Portions of the house date from 1480 and the moat, most of which still exists maybe much older than that.

Earlswood Lakes were created in 1821 on 51 acres of land known as Warren House Common to supply water to the Birmingham to Stratford canal. There are three lakes providing pleasant walks, fishing facilities www.fisheries.co.uk/earlswood and opportunities for those wishing to sail at Earlswood Lakes sailing club. St Patricks C of E infant and Junior school www.solihull.gov.uk is situated in the village, a good school that runs alongside St Patricks Church, with secondary schools in nearby, Wythall, Solihull and Henley. There are village stores, Earlswood Lakes craft centre www.earlswoodlakescraftcentre.co.uk several public houses and railway station giving links to Stratford and Birmingham. Within easy access are the area's Wythall, Dickens Heath, Shirley and Solihull with a mass of shopping facilities and necessary amenities.
