Wixford parish lies 2 miles south of Alcester and in 1691 was combined with Exhall near Alcester. It was sometimes call 'Papist Wixford' as the influence of the Throckmortons of Coughton Court was strong there. Wixford has long been an angling centre. The village pubs are The Fish Inn www.eatingpubs.co.uk/pubs/fishinnwixford/main.htm and The Three Horsehoes.
The local primary and secondary school is situated at Temple Grafton. The village and its facilities lie on the edge of the Ragley Estate.
