Encompassing three named woods, Conduit Coppice, Lady's Ley and Round Coppice, (parts of which are scheduled ancient and semi-natural woodland) they are a haven for wildlife and were originally part of the Skilts estate until sold by auction in October 1948.
The ponds have been used for fishing and recreational purposes and we believe there is scope to further enhance the recreational opportunities, perhaps (STPP) introducing 'Glamping pods', timber lodges etc. The various areas of woodland are bisected by a number of rides, leading in certain areas, to open glades making the whole a delight for the wildlife enthusiast who wishes to manage their own nature reserve.
South facing on the slopes of Gorcott Hill, the woodland is easily accessed from the A435 dual carriageway, lying some 14 miles south of Birmingham city centre, with excellent road communications via the M42 motorway Jn 3, The local towns of Redditch, Alcester, Stratford-on-Avon and Henley-in-Arden are all within easy driving distance.
